The EDGE 540 version is designed for all types of cyclists, athletes and explorers.

Get up to 60 hours in low power mode or up to 32 hours in intense mode.

Doubled memory capacity, trailforks installed, Round-Trip routing and route creation on the device, 2 macro regions installed, operation via buttons.
For both the Edge 540 and 840 Garmin claims a battery life of up to 26 hours in case of intense use (during a workout, with various sensors connected) and up to 42 hours in energy saving mode. About 6 hours more than the "old" 530 and 830.

Lightweight and compact, they have been renewed in terms of both hardware and software. They offer an even wider variety of training metrics, including adaptive coaching targeted to each individual athlete's personal goals, and improved navigation thanks to multi-band GNSS technology.

Targeted adaptive coaching: whether you ride indoors or outdoors, it allows you to view suggested daily workouts and sends personalized suggestions that adapt based on training load, recovery and upcoming races.
