The Fizik Ergolace 2 SPD is a highly versatile dirt-riding shoe, purpose-built for riders who refuse to choose between the pedaling efficiency of a dedicated cycling shoe and the walkability of a rugged hiker for hike-a-bike sections. Its signature asymmetrical design wraps naturally around the anatomy of the foot, while lightweight yet incredibly tough materials make it the perfect partner for your longest and most demanding expeditions.

Ergonomic Asymmetric Lacing

The proven Ergolace closure pattern shifts the laces toward the outer side of the shoe. This ergonomic design choice distributes pressure evenly across the instep and entirely prevents the laces from interfering or catching in your bike's chainrings and drivetrain.

High-Resistance Ripstop Upper

The upper is constructed from tightly woven Ripstop fabric, specifically engineered to resist tears, abrasions, and lacerations caused by stray branches or sharp rocks. For added durability, the toe box and side panels feature laminated Polyurethane (PU) caps that shield your feet from trail debris kicked up by the front wheel.

X2 Outsole: The Perfect Balance Between Saddle and Ground

The X2 outsole has been engineered to maximize versatility. Evolutionary Upgrade: What changes compared to the previous Ergolace X2?

Fizik listened closely to rider feedback from around the globe to evolve the first-generation (Terra Ergolace X2) into the brand-new Ergolace 2. Here are the key upgrades:

• Revised, Roomier Fit: The new Ergolace 2 features a wider, more anatomically shaped toe box (forefoot area). This allows the toes to splay naturally, preventing numbness, hot spots, or pinching during multi-hour back-to-back riding days.

• Increased Pedaling Efficiency: The stiffness index of the clip-in outsole has been stepped up to 4/10 (compared to 3/10 on the legacy model). This ensures better power transfer to the pedals without sacrificing the flexibility needed for natural walking.

• Upgraded Speed-Lacing System: The lace loops and configuration have been modernized to allow for a smoother, quicker pull, maintaining even tension and a secure hold throughout the ride.

• Sleeker Aesthetic: While the internal fit is noticeably more spacious and comfortable, the external volume has been trimmed down to eliminate the "bulky" silhouette typical of older trail shoes.
