Maxxis REAVER 700x45 HYPR-X Exo Tr 120Tpi Gravel Tire

Reaver is Maxxis's newest tire designed for gravel racing. Its low-profile tread design, smooth rolling, and lightweight construction have quickly made Reaver the top choice for elite gravel riders. In July, Keegan Swenson (Santa Cruz htSQD) set a new course record on a Maxxis Reaver during the grueling Crusher bike race in Tushar, and in June, Andrew L'Esperance (Maxxis Factory Racing) won the Blue Mountains Gravel Fondo on a Maxxis Reaver.

The low-profile tread design uses diamond-cut knurling to reduce rolling resistance and improve grip in dusty or slippery conditions. Spatula-shaped lugs arranged in groups of three provide extra grip under heavy braking, while the side lugs are spaced apart and staggered to ensure continuity when cornering. A groove is located between the side lugs to allow them to flex and conform to the terrain, improving traction.

The Reaver is ideal for riders as it's faster, lighter, and even more durable than the Rambler. In mixed conditions, the Rambler is more versatile, but if off-road speed is your number one priority, the Reaver is the best choice.

HYPER-X Compund

Maxxis' already excellent gravel tire lineup gets an update with the introduction of the new HYPR-X compound. Combining the best technology from two existing Maxxis compounds—the low-rolling-resistance HYPR for road and the race-winning MaxxSpeed ​​for mountains—HYPR-X will be integrated into new editions of Maxxis' entire gravel tire lineup.

Coming later in 2025, these improved versions of the Receptor, Reaver, Rambler, and Ravager will offer 19% better cornering traction and 25% lower rolling resistance. Other improvements include a new, even more durable nylon casing for the 120 TPI tire, which will significantly increase tread life, while the sidewalls will be protected from cuts and abrasions thanks to Maxxis' EXO protection. All tires will be tubeless ready.
